while she lines
her chatoyant eyes
with charcoal
maybe the name
she really needs
to think of,
is her own.

You're not a failure for failing
Her small, anxious hands
grabbed the cup, a bit too large
as it slipped down and tumbled to the ground,
the milky mess covering the carpet:
her mother let out a disapproving sigh
and rolled her eyes,
“Will you ever do anything right?”
and that’s when she began
to limit her aspirations,
so that her dreams would never be too large,
so she’d never make any mistakes
she’d never again drop the cup,
but she’d never have enough to drink.
I feel the rhythm of his heart,
beneath the boards the beating starts;
as reason from my mind departs,
I fall apart, I fall apart.
The men who knocked upon my door,
not knowing what's beneath my floor
will want to settle up the score -
I do implore, I do implore
This guilt breaks conscience with my lie -
my wracking sobs and wretched sighs.
I never meant for him to die.
It was his eye, it was his eye!
I use your mascara flooded tears
As ink for my pen
A pot full supplied as I suggest
That we still remain friends
I dip the flight feathered quill
Into those murky tears
The ivory parchment paper
Will soak them up nicely my dear
I use your powder based foundation
As I'm ashamed of these scars
There is no foundation to my pain
So how did it get this far
I paint 'love' and I paint 'hate'
On to manicured finger nails
You make up your pretty face
Before you make up another tale
I use your ruby red lipstick
To tell you of my curse
Wrote 'redrum' on the mirror
You see 'murder' in reverse
Make me up to be beautiful

"How did you-"
"It's always your mother, and I always know. Now tell me."

"I'm not going to ask you again. Just tell me."
"She said that I can't draw. I can't sing. I can't act. I can't do anything and I never shall- You're laughing."
"I'm sorry. Certain phrases make me want to laugh. 'I can't' is one of them."
"I'm glad you find my grief so amusing."
"Look, you need to understand something. The word 'can't' is going to follow you around for the rest of your life. History is filled with people who were told they 'can't' do something. You know what makes them special?"
"What?"

You look for an escape
but there's nowhere to hide.
You need to get away
from this feeling inside.
The madness around you
has penetrated your soul.
You cry out. You long for
your times of old.
You need something
to end this misery.
You see the blade.
You need to bleed.
You hold it in your hand.
Just one single blow
can end it all now.
You decide to go.
You feel the sharp slice
accross your vein.
You see the blood
but you don't feel pain.
You find the happiness
that you once loved,
but you can never grasp it

I give a damn
That there is still discrimination against love.
I give a damn
That students all over the world are bullied for their sexual orientation.
I give a damn
That when the time comes, I cannot sponsor my partner for citizenship.
I give a damn
That teens would rather commit suicide then face the pain brought on by their loved

I give a damn
That some parents would throw their kids out of the house, just for being gay.
I give a damn,
Because homosexuality is not a choice, and every individual de
