If poetry is art,
shouldn't mine be better?

Shouldn't I be able to show off my artistic genes,
and accomplish my artistic dreams,
and not end up living off of cans of beans,
buying crappy used jeans,
because i'm living beyond my means?

Well, I certainly hope things don't turn out that way.
So I guess i'll make a living off of something with better pay.
I suppose i'd better start to pray,
That I do end up becoming a therapist one day.

At least I hope so.

When you are two and five and ten you are unaware –– of the cactus in the windowsill, how, fragile, each quill bends and breaks and falls apart.–– Twelve years later, on a Tuesday, you dream about a boy who bumps his head on an iron slate and you wake in a cold sweat. You are twelve when you are always bumping shoulders. Twenty-two years of Thursday. There is nothing at all. And you wonder (and you wonder why) each time you wake. Just a little something I wrote for my creative writing class. I was bored and I realized that considering I can draw, write, and sing, that shouldn't I be a better artist? So yea, that's where this is from. I just kinda wish I could kick ass at one of em at least. I'm kinda one of those... "A Jack of all trades, but a master of none" Kinda people. Oh well lol.
